Designer Notes

With its large scale and restrained palette, When We Fell in Love can bring both softness and visual weight to an interior. The blush-pink ground works beautifully with warm neutrals, natural woods, plaster, stone, and muted earth tones, while the charcoal and deep green forms provide enough contrast to hold their own in a more contemporary space.

At 54 × 49 inches, the work has a substantial presence without feeling overly formal. It would be particularly effective in a space where the painting can be given room to breathe and where its layered, atmospheric surface can be appreciated up close.

Collector Notes

There is something intentionally unresolved about When We Fell in Love. The title suggests intimacy and memory, while the painting itself resists giving us a single, literal story. Soft color, gestural marks, and darker forms accumulate slowly, allowing the work to reveal itself differently depending on how closely it is viewed.

The piece belongs to the part of my practice where landscape and emotion begin to overlap. Rather than depicting a particular place, I’m interested in creating the feeling of one remembered.
