shipping times
All rolled canvas pieces and flat-file works are shipped within 72 hours of order placement. Each item is carefully packed and is generally shipped through UPS/ USPS. A tracking number will be provided at the time of shipment.
Depending on the size and destination, we will follow up within 48 hours of purchase to coordinate the shipping of all stretched canvas and encaustic work. In some cases, due to size, it may be best to use a white-glove specialty service to ensure your artwork arrives safely. In these instances, delivery may take several weeks. We will make every effort to ensure your piece ships as quickly as possible while prioritizing its safe delivery.
returns, exchanges, cancellations, and refunds
Items in the flat file and rolled works on canvas are eligible for returns. Please contact the studio, mel@melrea.com, within 48 hours of receiving your work if you would like to return or exchange works within this category. A refund will be made (minus a shipping fee) after the work arrives safely back to the studio (return shipping fee to be paid by buyer).
All other works (encaustic and stretched canvas) are final sales.
Color & Variation Disclaimer
Please note that colors may vary slightly from what you see on screen. We do our best to photograph each artwork and product in natural light to reflect its true tone and texture. However, due to screen calibration and lighting, minor variation can occur and is not considered a fault or reason for refund.
Due to their highly personal and made-to-order nature, custom and commissioned pieces are non-refundable under any circumstances unless damaged in transit. We work closely with our collectors during creation of custom works to ensure alignment of expectations and outcome. By proceeding with a custom order, you agree to accept the artist’s interpretation and style.
Custom & Commissioned Work
While we make every effort to ensure that your order arrives safely and on time, unforeseen circumstances may occur.
If you believe your package is experiencing unusual shipping delays, is lost in transit, or has been delivered incorrectly, please contact our support team, mel@melrea.com, as soon as you suspect something has gone wrong. We are happy to follow up with carriers to get a more detailed status on your shipment.
Please inspect your order immediately upon receipt and contact us if the item is damaged or if you receive the wrong item so we can investigate the issue and make it right.
If one of your items arrives damaged, please send clear photos of the damaged item and its original packaging to mel@melrea.com. We will send you a replacement of comparable value free of charge, or reimburse your purchase.
We aim to ensure that you are thrilled with your purchase, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in handling damaged items.
Lost or Damaged Order
When you order from the Mel Rea Collection, you are responsible for customs duties, taxes, fees, or tariffs your country may impose. These fees are not included in our product or shipping prices.
Depending on the package's destination, we may collect customs-related fees on your behalf at checkout. We provide that service to expedite customs processing in cases where those fees and related customs documents may be submitted electronically. If those fees are not collected in advance, they will be collected by the shipping company upon delivery or may be billed to you directly.
In all cases, the buyer is ultimately responsible for covering the costs of importing the product into their country. We recommend checking with your local customs office for more information.
