This unique work on paper is created on handmade cotton rag watercolor paper, which is made from recycled trimmings of cotton t-shirts. The art of paper making is a painstaking and delicate craft that requires a great deal of patience and skilled craftsmanship. I have personally tried my hand at making paper, only to realize that this special process is best left to a collaboration between myself and the skilled paper makers.

I love that the creation of each of the pieces in this line of work involves multiple contributors. The artwork is not framed, which allows the framer to further enhance the piece. This aspect invites collectors to participate in the collaboration by communicating the esthetics of their space to the framer. It truly takes a community to create and display handmade works on paper.
